Thoughts at the end of the year and a personal outlook

As the current secretary of the LSAP Dräilännereck section and former committed member of the Besser Zesummen citizens' list in the municipality of Schengen, I can look back on an intense and, at the same time, groundbreaking year. Together with all the active members of the section's executive committee, we have achieved a great deal in recent months.

Since 2024, our section has been fundamentally reorganised, restructured and consistently adapted to the requirements of modern political work.

We have:

  • modernised internal processes,

  • renewed communication and digital standards,

  • created a clear, recognisable political identity,

  • and, above all, developed the new local identity of the six municipalities belonging to the Dräilännereck section – a milestone that will form the basis for our local political work from 2026 onwards.

These developments were not a matter of course. They were the result of hard work, numerous meetings, lively exchanges and the tireless commitment of all those involved.

A period of rest that serves the cause

After such a busy year, the winter months are now upon us – traditionally a somewhat quieter time before we start the ordinary general meeting in March 2026 with renewed vigour in the spring.

During this phase, I will be spending around three and a half months in Spain with my wife. This stay has been deliberately chosen: it is an opportunity to recharge my batteries, gain some distance and clear my head – without losing sight of my political responsibilities.

Why this break makes sense – for me and for the section

Even political engagement needs a breather. A temporary change of scenery offers numerous advantages:

1. New perspectives for political work

A change of environment allows us to gain distance from everyday routines. This opens up space for new ideas and creative approaches that will benefit our future work on the Executive Committee.

2. Recovery after an intensive phase of reorganisation

The comprehensive reorganisation of our section was challenging. A break allows us to recharge our batteries so that we can continue our work with fresh vigour in a strategic and structured manner.

3. Focus on reflection and strategic planning

Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, long-term issues can be viewed more clearly. The winter months are ideal for preparing for the work of the coming year – especially with a view to 2026.

4. Digital collaboration is further strengthened

My participation in digital meetings of the section's executive committee and executive office also highlights how modern, flexible and well-connected our section has become. The break is not a break – it shows that political work today is possible regardless of location.

Still fully available – despite the physical distance

Although I will be physically in Spain, I will of course remain fully available and active in my role as secretary.

I will:

  • participate in meetings digitally,

  • respond to enquiries,

  • take on organisational tasks as usual,

  • and continue to support the political work in the background.

Our successful modernisation makes exactly that possible: location independence without any loss of quality.

A confident outlook

The past few months have shown what a motivated and well-structured community can achieve. The coming months are an opportunity for me to relax and recharge my batteries – but also to prepare for what lies ahead in 2026.

I look forward to being back on site in the spring, strengthened, inspired and ready to take the next steps for the future of the LSAP Dräilännereck section together with the executive committee and all members.

We remain focused on the future – with confidence and a clear orientation towards the tasks ahead.
